Sustainable Footbridge Installed for Local Community

The Link PPS team were delighted to be able to assist with the installation of a new public footbridge as part of a community project in Wantage, Oxfordshire, that will now allow the local residents to take advantage of walks in the area.

Working with timber street furniture specialists Woodscape, Link installed the footbridge across a disused canal.

The timber used for the installation was all naturally very durable hardwood with FSC Certification, responsibly sourced from sustainable forests. The beams were Greenheart, the posts, rails and fascia boards were Cumaru, and the decking was Balau. 

Despite a delay starting the project due to heavy rain, once on site the project was completed in just one week. During that time we ensured the area remained safe and access maintained for the local residents.
