A Day in the Life - Vicky Cooke

As a company, we continuously strive to offer our clients exceptional service. From the initial outset to the completed result, our projects run efficiently and seamlessly due to our fantastic project managers.

To deliver a project that completes on time and to a high standard, communication is key, as mentioned by our project manager, Vicky. Having been part of our team for almost 3 years, solving any issues that may arise and keeping the client updated throughout are some of the many tasks that encompass Vicky’s role.

With that in mind, let's take a closer look at what an average day may look like for her….

How would your working day normally start?
With a good cup of tea! Haha. Most days will start around 7am where I will be communicating with on site engineers when their working days start, to ensure the working day is running on time and dealing with any queries/issues from engineers on their first site. The key is starting the first site well, particularly when we have multiple crews installing on up to four sites per day, otherwise the first site can have a significant knock on effect for the rest of the day.

What are your responsibilities within the role?
I am responsible for delivering and completing all enabling works for Revolution Laundry. In addition to this, I am also responsible for the Amazon projects. We provide an end to end solution for Amazon Lockers, carrying out surveys, enabling works, installations, storage, logistics and reactive works. Lastly, I oversee the Co-op account where we carry out all reactive fabric maintenance.

What are some of the daily tasks your day consists of?
I split my time with being field based and office based. Field based can be visiting clients and suppliers or a particular installation site.

My office days involve a lot of communication with our field teams and suppliers, both on the phone and verbally. We work very closely with our clients on a day to day basis, ensuring we can be proactive in planning installation works efficiently, but also being reactive and providing solutions to any issues that may arise.

Do you have any specific qualifications relevant to your role?
I am SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualified.

What gives you a sense of job satisfaction?
Providing effective solutions for our clients. The satisfaction that you have when you’ve delivered a great installation or project to a client, who you have developed and built a rapport with, is a great feeling.

What do you enjoy most about working for Link PPS?
I really enjoy the freedom to make a project your own and put your own identity on something.

And finally, what do you get up to when you’re not busy working?
I am a Formula 2 Sidecar passenger competing in British and European events including the Isle of Man TT.

We would like to say a big thank you to Vicky and all of our team who go above and beyond to ensure we offer outstanding service and results for our clients on a daily basis!
