To ensure a company runs seamlessly, it requires a team of hardworking and dedicated staff members who not only focus on gaining new contracts but nurturing existing relationships with long-standing clients.
Our sales manager Simon True, joined the team in 2021 and is responsible for a multitude of tasks across the business with each day being varied and fast paced. In this episode of our ‘day in the life’ series, we discover what an average day looks like for Simon and which beverage he likes to collect in his spare time…
How do you normally start your working day?
I start my day by checking emails over a large cup of coffee!
What are your responsibilities in the role?
Business Development – highlighting new business clients and approaching them to gain workflow into the business. Also to look after the ongoing relationships to ensure client satisfaction while allowing the project teams to deliver the work projects and liaise with the clients directly.

What does your average day entail?
After checking my emails this is followed by either client meetings across the UK or working from our Head Office in Huddersfield. Some days this is a mixture of all, each day is varied.
What gives you a sense of job satisfaction?
Speaking to new clients and bringing them on board. In addition to this, receiving positive feedback from both clients and colleagues regarding the way we’ve tenaciously kept in contact through the duration of their projects.
Do you have any specific qualifications relevant to your role?
I have completed a HND in Technical Engineering alongside various sales and account management courses.
What do you enjoy most about working for Link PPS?
The work is varied, clients from a wide number of sectors ensure every day is different.
And lastly, what are your hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy sports of all kinds and I also enjoy collecting malt whisky.
